    This year has been a turbulent time for all of us and the international steel markets have been no different. Nickel pricing, which is a key stainless steel component has surged over the last 6 months, as has iron ore and scrap - both key inputs for carbon steels. We are now seeing significant finished goods increases flowing through.

    Staff at Steel & Tube recently celebrated the first graduation from the Workplace literacy Programme with Edvance. (www.edvance.co.nz)

    Twelve staff have been on this journey for seven months, and have grown in confidence not only in the workplace, but also their families and communities.

    At the ceremony we were privileged to hear personal reflections  which had key themes around leadership, cultural diversity, communication and  opportunity.
