Steel & Tube is pleased to announce the appointment of Trent Brash as Group Sustainability Manager.

The company is committed to adding value for all stakeholders, from staff to customers and local communities as well as reducing the environmental impact of its activities. Trent will be working closely with all stakeholders to drive sustainability improvements through Steel & Tube’s supply chain and manage key sustainability reporting.

Chief Executive Officer, Mark Malpass, said: “We believe it is our responsibility to ensure we play our part in making the world a better place and our sustainability focus is integrated into each of our strategic pillars.

“We support a collaborative approach to lowering emissions in the building, construction and manufacturing sectors. Steel is not only the most appropriate choice for many applications, it is also a sustainable solution when considering the product’s full lifecycle – it is infinitely recyclable, easily reused and repurposed, has a long life, generates minimal construction waste and New Zealand steel is made using renewable energy sources.”

Mark continued: “Trent has demonstrated he has a clear passion for improving our environment and communities. He will play an important role as we continue to create an environmentally and socially responsible company that shareholders, customers and our Steel & Tube team can all be proud of.”
