  • Mark Malpass

    MBA, BE Mech (Hons), NZCE

    CEO
    Mark first joined Steel & Tube as an Independent Director in March 2017, but has stood down from the Board after being appointed interim Chief Executive on 25 September 2017. Mark was permanently appointed as Chief Executive on 22 February 2018. Mark has had significant executive experience both in NZ and overseas. He worked with ExxonMobil Corporation for over 19 years and was Chief Executive of Fletcher Buildings largest division, Infrastructure Products, which included transforming their steel distribution businesses.
  • Greg Smith

    CFO and Company Secretary
    Greg joined the Company on 30 October 2017. A chartered accountant, Greg has financial and senior level leadership experience across the telecommunications, dairy, electricity and infrastructure sectors. He commenced his finance career with KPMG’s audit team in Wellington in 1996 and has held finance roles with Opus International Consultants Limited and since 2011, as Chief Financial Officer for with Wellington Electricity Lines (WEL) / International Infrastructure Services Company (IISC).
  • Marc Hainen

    General Manager Distribution
    Marc, who joined the company on 1 November 2017, brings significant experience in the steel and construction industry in New Zealand. He has a strong background in sales and marketing management, operations and manufacturing as well as logistics and supply chain. Marc has held a variety of management and leadership roles in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, including multiple roles leading a variety of divisions within Fletcher Building Limited.
  • Anna Morris

    LLB, BA

    General Manager, People & Culture
    Anna joined Steel &Tube in January 2019. Anna is an experienced executive with a background in human resources, law and corporate services. She has worked extensively in the construction and building industry, with her previous role being Head of People & Performance at Fletcher Construction Company Ltd, and prior to that with John Holland, a subsidiary of Leighton Holdings. Anna is responsible for Steel & Tube’s people strategy, with a particular focus on building culture and organisational capability.
  • Claire Radley

    PHD, MS, BS

    General Manager, Strategy
    Claire joined Steel & Tube in January 2019. Claire brings a multitude of experience and knowledge from McKinsey & Company, where she worked across a broad range of industries on topics such as strategy, operational excellence and transformational change. Claire holds a PhD from Princeton University's Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, and additionally has collaborated with both NASA and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
  • Damian Miller

    General Manager, QHSET
    Damian has over 20 years’ international experience in Operations Management, Quality, Health, Safety & Environment, QA/QC, Oil & Gas and most recently the steel industry. He has held various Operations & Executive Management positions in the US, Asia, Africa, Latin America. Damian joined Steel & Tube in 2016 and reports directly to the CEO. He has responsibility for the creation and implementation of the company’s quality strategy and initiatives, and development of Steel & Tube’s company-wide quality culture.
  • David McGregor

    GM Reinforcing & Wire
    David joined Steel & Tube in June 2019. He is a fitter and turner by trade and worked with Steel & Tube for three years after completing his apprenticeship in 1986. He then went onto become a shareholder and director of Easteel Industries, with operations throughout New Zealand and Australia, and remained as General Manager following the company’s sale. David’s most recent positions have been with Brightwater Group and Energyworks in senior management roles and as CEO respectively.
  • Mike Hendry

    Chief Digital Officer
    Mike was appointed to the new role of Chief Digital Officer in June 2019. He is an international business and software leader with a focus on implementing digital change. Mike has extensive experience leading the IT, cybersecurity and digital transformation for large companies, including Auckland Airport, Yellow NZ and IBM. Mike has an MBA from Otago University. He is a Member of the IOD, Member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and a Member of the Software Association New Zealand.
  • Darryn Ross

    General Manager Roll Forming
    Darryn re-joined Steel & Tube in January 2019 after managing S&T Plastics between June 2016 and June 2018. He has over 25 years’ experience in managing manufacturing businesses, with an extensive background in engineering, operations and sales in New Zealand, the US and the UK. He previously owned a plastics manufacturing business for 19 years designing, developing and delivering innovative solutions for some of the largest OEMs around the world.
