29 Aug 2017

STU / NZX ANNOUNCEMENT

Steel & Tube Holdings Limited today announced a new member to the company’s Board of Directors.  Steve Reindler is a professional director with a background in large-scale infrastructure and heavy industry manufacturing.

His appointment will be effective from 1 October 2017.

This is a further move in the Board refresh signalled to shareholders by the company last year and complements the appointment of Susan Paterson and Mark Malpass earlier in the year.

Steve is a qualified mechanical engineer (BE, Hons) from Auckland University and has completed an advanced management programme at Harvard Business School.

He was General Manager Engineering at Auckland International Airport for 11 years, and his previous employment included 22 years with New Zealand Steel and BHP Steel where he held a number of roles including General Manager Engineering and Environment.

Steve’s current governance roles include: Director of Meridian Energy Ltd, Naylor Love Enterprises Ltd, Broome International Airport Group, Yachting NZ, Z Energy Ltd, WorkSafe NZ and Chair of Waste Disposal Services JV.

He was previously a Director of the Port of Napier, Stevenson Group Ltd, an advisory director of Glidepath Ltd, a member of the Transfield Services Ltd Advisory Board, and is a former president of the Institute of Professional Engineers NZ.

Steve has led occupational health and safety programmes at Auckland Airport and BHP Steel.

Chair Susan Paterson said she was delighted a director with Steve’s breadth of management and governance experience was joining the Board.  “With Dean Pritchard retiring at our AGM, we are pleased to be bringing in a new director with deep steel, supply chain, and construction industry experience.”
