Steel & Tube appoints a new director

Steel & Tube Holdings Limited (NZX: STU) is pleased to welcome Andrew Flavell to the Board as an Independent Director, effective from 1 October 2021. 


Andrew is an accomplished senior technology executive with significant global success in developing and executing strategies to promote business and organisational growth, and driving optimal use of cutting edge technologies, tools and processes. 


He has held senior executive roles and driven digital transformations at companies such as Nike and Microsoft and most recently as Chief Technology Officer at Plexure, the NZX-listed global mobile engagement company. Andrew holds a Doctor of Engineering, Systems Engineering from the University of Tokushima, Japan and did his Bachelor of Engineering at Auckland University.  


Chair of Steel & Tube, Susan Paterson, said: “Steel & Tube is leading the way in the use of digital technology in the steel sector, and our digital strategy is becoming an increasingly valuable pathway for the company.  Andrew’s extensive experience will be of significant value to Steel & Tube and meets a need identified in the Board skills matrix. Andrew has been appointed by the current Steel & Tube Directors, as permitted under Steel & Tube’s constitution. He will hold office until Steel & Tube’s 2022 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting at which time he will offer himself for election by shareholders. The Board has determined that Andrew is an independent Director.
